Fostering with Bully Love Coalition: A Foster Story
We began our fostering journey in early 2025 (late 2024), stepping into a world we quickly came to care deeply about. Before joining Bully Love Coalition (BLC), we had already been approved as fosters with two other rescues. Through those experiences, we met some truly incredible people and, like many in rescue, a few challenges along the way.
When we joined BLC from the very beginning, something immediately felt different. It didn’t take long for us to feel like we had found our place.
From day one, the support has been consistent, genuine, and unwavering. The board and team are always available, whether it’s advice, guidance, or simply reassurance on a hard day. Even in moments where we’ve felt overwhelmed or unsure of ourselves, there is always someone ready to step in and help us figure things out instead of leaving us to struggle alone.
We are currently caring for our second dog with BLC. He came to us carrying a lot of anxiety and uncertainty about the world. Working with him has been a learning experience in every sense. With the help of the BLC team, we’ve been able to explore different ways to support him, build trust, and help him slowly start to feel safe.
He also has some strong reactions to certain triggers that we’re still learning how to navigate. Instead of being left on our own to manage that, BLC connected us with a trainer who has helped us understand him better and develop practical tools to support his progress. That kind of hands-on guidance has made a real difference—not just for him, but for us as fosters too.
One of the things we appreciate most is being included in the process. We are part of the video interviews for potential adopters, and our input is genuinely valued. Because we live with these dogs every day, we understand their personalities, quirks, and needs in a way no profile ever could. Being able to answer questions, ask our own, and help determine the best possible match gives us confidence that these dogs are being set up for success.
At its core, fostering with BLC feels like being part of a family. It’s not just a rescue organization, it’s a community where everyone shows up for each other, especially when things get hard.
We would wholeheartedly recommend fostering with Bully Love Coalition to anyone who loves bully breeds and wants to make a real difference. You are never alone in it, and that support changes everything.
